There is a region in the Venezuelan territory called El Golfo Triste, it is quite extensive so its limits tend to be imprecise, it belongs to the Caribbean Sea and has mouths of several rivers belonging to the states of Falcón and Carabobo. I was aware of its existence thanks to news related to oil spills in the area that occurred in 2020. Immersion in distant waters and depression as a metaphor for body geomorphology are elements that are part of this projection. Images of the coasts of Portugal and Spain compose moving images that stage the limits of a recreated territory, a fictional mapping of a region that I inhabit from memory.

Existe una región en el territorio venezolano llamada El Golfo Triste, es bastante extensa por lo que sus límites tienden a ser imprecisos, pertenece al Mar Caribe y posee desembocaduras de varios ríos pertenecientes a los estados Falcón y Carabobo. Tuve consciencia de su existencia gracias a unas noticias relacionadas a derrames petroleros en el área ocurridos en el año 2020. La inmersión en aguas distantes y la depresión como metáfora de la geomorfología corporal, son elementos que forman parte de esta proyección. Imágenes de costas de Portugal y España componen imágenes en movimiento que escenifican los límites de un territorio recreado, un mapeo ficcional sobre una región que habito desde la memoria.
